So, here we are in North Carolina.  Actually on the border of South Carolina.  Have been having issues with the internet since we've been away so that is my excuse for the delay in posting to this blog.  However, let's begin (this is also my way of keeping track of what we did, where we did it and when- once we get home).

Our first day on the road, April 24th was full of wet, sloppy, rain.  We didn't travel too far that day as we wanted to enjoy the scenery and it's tough to do looking thru wet glasses and windshields.  We
made it to just south of Parkersburg, WV and decided to call it a day.  Found a campground in Sandyville, WV.  A very small one that also happens to be a trailer park called Ruby Lake.  Love the name!  Makes me think of jewels.  Our site needed to have some branches trimmed, so she (owner)
comes running to us with her little Stihl saw.  Unfortunately, she couldn't get it started...so driver started it.  Unfortunatly she couldn't reach the branches that were hitting our camper, so driver also cut the branches.  Should have gotten a pic of that.  Here's our site:
I
Must also mention this bridge that we had to cross at the driveway to this campground.  Freaked me out.  It had no weight limit posted and that was a scarey thought when I'm riding in a big ole pick up truck towing an even bigger ole 35 ft. fifth wheel behind us.  Actually being a campground and figuring that others even bigger and heavier than we were have made it across the bridge appeared to be intact so who are we to doubt.  It worked!

Yep, you had to be perfectly lined up to make it on the right boards!  eek  My driver is good!

We stayed one night here and then moved on south.  Watching the GPS elevation #'s rise and the temps go lower.  At 3000 feet at one point and the temp. had dropped 8 degrees.  We could see snow on the mountain tops.  A very pretty drive in WV but I really loved the scenery in Virginia.  So neat to see the black spots (cows) on the green hillsides.  So pretty cause of course my favorite cows are black.  read: Black Angus!  yum.

Rocky is still walking on three legs part time.  We think while "covering one of his things" he stepped on something or maybe another cyst between toes.  MALE DOG.  It'll get better but he sure doesn't like walking up the steps to the camper.  Thinks we should lift him up.....how funny!

More later with pics of this campground.  It is also an amusement park, Carowinds.  Seems that alot of the campers in here are maybe workers at the park.  Haven't had the opportunity to talk with any residents yet tho.

Driver went to check out a state park nearby so maybe we will move tomorrow.  We are not scheduled to Charleston until May 1st but we may check in earlier.  Texted our man, Dustin to say I forgot to bring the invitation with us...we only had three weeks to pack.   Anyway, he said not an issue with getting in to see him graduate.  More pics to come for sure!
