Elevation 23 Feet....are you kidding me?

Nope that's exactly what it is here and I guess that's better than -23 feet.   We are currently in Bay Saint Louis MS.  If you look at a map and find the Gulf of Mexico and then follow that coastline to the right of Texas and Louisiana there is a little knob in Mississippi just beyond the Louisiana state line.  That's where we are for this month.  We originally said we would stay here three days (using our Passport America reduced rate) and then find another spot until we were ready to head north.  However, the folks here are so friendly and nice and the campground has lots of stuff happening all the time it seems and there is alot of scooter riding to be done in this area-we opted to just stay here for the month.  With the hope that the weather at home is more bearable and after the month we could head north.  Here's our spot this month-
no concrete pad here!  And lots of grass needing mowing but it's so wet and continues to get wetter they really haven't had the opportunity to mow.  There are only about 40 some sites here and everyone in here is retired and mostly from the north.  Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, New York.  You get the picture.  It's been in the 70's here with sunshine.  This aftenoon rain showers.  The grass will be taller than Rocky's belly soon.    Tonight is Bingo at the rec center.  Each couple is to bring a $1 gift.  What do you get for a buck?  I got boxes of candy-like you get at the movies-only these were only .98  And not the 3. that they would charge at the theaters.

Then in the morning folks who wish to attend will be doing breakfast in the town of BSL.  The owner of the cg says  she likes to frequent the places in town and let them know that we are all from the Bay Hide Away campground.  Good public awareness.  When we arrived here we were more or less mugged by the folks of each side of us.  One of the sides, Dick and Nancy from Minnesota, have invited us to go with a small group to New Orleans on the 24th of this month.  Apparently Dick is a retired truck driver and has rented a van so that we can all ride together.  One parking/driving nightmare instead of 4 or 5.  Don't know who else is attending, but we are both looking forward to seeing the French Quarter.  Penny has told me some things about it and we are about to become a part of it all.  Mardi Gras is happening here now.  Mardi Gras beads and feathers and masks are everywhere.  Even in the trees.  Mardi Gras will be over when we go there.

Today while we were outside a lady from the campground stopped by with an invitation for me to attend a Scentier Lamps and Stonewick Fragrance Oil demo at the clubhouse tomorrow.  So I will probaby be buying some good smells.  Anyone familiar with this stuff?  Gosh, our calendar is suddenly looking like something!

Here's one major reason why we left Coushatta-these don't look like the previously posted vouchers do they?  One can only win so many times and these are mine.  You may wonder why I would bother with this crappy amt.  well every crappy amount can be used in a machine somewhere.  There are a couple of casino's here, too.

Gotta go-they may be calling my number at the clubhouse!  Maybe I can win a really nice dollar prize.
