Brushed the travel out of my hair.....

Went to the casino here and won!  Not so much in  the scheme of things, but $104. on a penny slot machine.  Yea, me.  Took a bit to cha ching that much penny by penny but it was fun watching it add up.
So, we are in Kinder, LA now and will be here till Saturday morning.  Then we will motor west and see Sarah, at last.  Well, ok others too, but Sarah is pretty pumped about our arrival according to Scott. 

This place owned and run by the Coushatta Indians is quite luxurious.  The RV sites here are all paved with patios, cable TV, our own litter container in the front, it is picked up daily, security runs thru this RV park constantly, a shuttle will deliver us to the casino. Also has a heated pool, game room and laundry on site. The casino itself has many buffets, bars, gift shops, and a hotel.  You only need to look like you have a question and someone is willing to help you.  These Indians know how to get our money.  The regular rate for overnight is $18-20 depending on what day you want to be here.  We had a coupon that gave us two free nights with three nights paid by us.  So we have 5 nights here for about $60.  Can't beat the price!

On our trip here yesterday we saw rice fields.  Driver made the comment that he wondered if they also raise crawfish as he saw some net looking traps piled up.  So, I googled it and sure enough this is crawfish farm area.  We learn so much by traveling and seeing things that are out of the norm for us. And Boudin!  Know what that is?  It's a type of sausage that is also very popular down here. Don't know if I'll try any of that but I did have some real shrimp gumbo that was awesome.  And the gator hunter was in this area last weekend.
Again, check out the Swamp people on TV. Saw an ad on google that said we should come to meet him.
So that tells me that gators are also in this area. Those we haven't seen yet. 

Cold here last night-freeze warning.  But hopefully get into the 60's today and hooray for the sun!!! I'll send pics tonight-it's dark thirty here now.  We lost another hour on this trip so we are ready for bed by 7 and up by 4.  Wonder if we'll ever adjust.  Now it's time for some waffles and bacon.....
