March 1, 2008 In like a lamb...

Hello from our new blogspot. Hello to March.
I said OUR blogspot, but you all know that HE won't be doing any blogging. He won't even answer when someone wants to chat on email. Oh well, I'll do the entries but no doubt will have input from him as well.
Such a beautiful day here in Rockport. Kinda scarey tho to think about the end of March with this being the lamb entrance to March. We are at the end of our month in Big D RV park. We will pull out of here on the 5th and go on down to S. Padre Island where we will meet up with Betty Daubenspeck at her condo. And there are several Montana folks camped down there as well. I am hoping for less wind down there but in the back of my mind, I know that to be a foolish wish. Gotta be wind on an island, right?

Here is our campsite at Big D. Pretty sunny, isn't it? The sites are actually smaller than what we are used to in Delaware, but it has free wi-fi, free cable TV and full hook-ups. And it's been our home for the last month. We've met some lovely folks here, too. Our closest neighbors moved out this morning for a site on Aransas Pass-closer to the beach. They were from Pleasant Hill, Ohio and their names are Lowell and Carolyn Jess. Also there is a couple here from Montana. They arranged the Valentine dinner for the campground folks to enjoy. Also really special people, Dave and Cindy Dunner. It's good that there are so many friendly folks here cause it is strange not to be camping with our family and friends.
Steve has been riding his scooter alot. He has over 5000 miles on it as we speak. Every nice day he goes out and comes back with stories to tell of the things he's seen. I may convince him to take a ride over to Key Allegro tonight. There is the nicest little restaurant there. We took Scott and Vickie there when they were here and it was so nice to sit outside and watch the boats bob up and down in the marina.
So good to know that we've arrived and are a part of the 21st century.....(blogging, at last!)
Enjoy your day and know that we are happy and healthy but missing everyone alot. Leave us a comment and let us know what you think of our (OK, my) blogspot idea.
