A travel day

And it rained and rained and rained. The roads were rough, extremely rough in Arkansas, it was foggy and very windy at times. Actually extremely rough doesn't begin to describe the road conditions, but this should give you a better idea as to exactly how rough it was.....

Bounced the scooter right off the bumper. As we are motoring down the highway a passing car laid on his horn and motioned for us to get off. Driver immediately slowed down and fortunately there was an exit nearby. So when we got stopped he walked around the camper (hoping that it was only the propane door that continued to fly open) however, this is the result. He had a bungee cord thru the front wheel that held it up but the nut apparently jiggled loose from the bolt. It's so sad, I wanted to cry when I looked at the poor little thing. So pitiful all scarred with road rash. When I touched that bottom plate-it was actually still hot. He lost his good HD gloves, his proof of insurance and the registration along with the scooter's manual.

Once we arrive at our destination we will take a good inventory and see if the baby will start-if it will start he'll see about getting some parts to repair. Wonder about insurance....road hazard?

Geico?

A nice man stopped as we were getting off the interstate and asked if he could help. Driver said if you could help me lift it back up on the rails, that would be great. He did and we were back on the road again.

Then when we get to the campground here it is dark already and someone has parked in the spot that was reserved for us. So, we had to wait till they unhooked the electric and water and move. It's been a dreary, icky day for us but it's about over for now. Think I'll go to bed (hoping that my heated mattress pad is operational) and wait for the new day tomorrow.
