Brian, the car repair guy, recommended a restaurant where we could go get some breakfast/lunch. It was 10:00 and driver hadn't eaten yet. You can imagine our dilemna! He recommended this spot and it was so good. We each got a Western Omelette and hash browns. We should have split one order it was huge. Neither of us could finish the plates we were served.
We went for a walk along the waterfront this afternoon. Rocky loves the outings that he is getting now. One on two generally but sometimes only one of
us takes him, but he loves it. At any rate while we were there, there just happened to be a guy who had been riding a scooter parked nearby and he was talking to a guy on a bike. Of course, driver wanted to stop and chat with them while Rocky and I walked. I took a few pictures of the waterfront. Love taking pictures of the boats and the docks and the guys working on the boats. No guys there today, but here's some docks and some boats.
So here's the story of the guy on the bike-as we pulled up to park he sees Rocky looking out the window and said "A black Lab like that took my leg off". Sure enough when I looked down-
actually it was a shark that took his leg- apparently one hit him with it's tail while he was diving , he got an infection in that and part of his leg had to be ampu
tated. Don't know how much of his leg is gone, but he was a good sport about the whole thing and gave us so much sea information. He told us about the dolphins that were swimming in the bay and we watched them for awhile. He was kinda unkempt, bearded, and when I asked him where he lived he said he has a fifth wheel at the airport. HUH? We will go past the airport again and see if there is a fifth wheel there. He was about 2 miles from the airport. Said he loves helping fishermen out by telling them how to fish in the area. Like I said we must have chatted with him for 45 min. or more about the dolphin habits and different types of sharks that inhabit the waters here. He also told us about Henry, the bird, that stops by and sits next to the fishermen on the walls. He will stare at them baiting their hooks with the shrimp. He's hoping for a generous guy to toss him a shrimp or two. As we were getting ready to leave he lit up a cigarette and he started coughing. And coughed. And coughed more. He was so nice to talk to, and gave us so much information that driver gave him a Lincoln and told him to buy himself a beer. Bicycle guy accepted it just grinned all over and said he hoped we have a very nice day. So a good afternoon today.
An afterthought: If bicycle guy can move his fifth wheel with a Schwinn maybe that Cobalt out there could move this fifth wheel.?????
