The family cometh.....

The rest of the family that is. We are ready to be all together again. Busy day today-barrel racing at the grounds here behind the campground, Sarah's soccer game, take the truck to get the antenna replaced (yet another problem), g0 to the 'port and pick up the kids, eat off the smoker, ah, life is good. Busy day but we are all looking forward to having everyone here....together......as family should be.

Truck story: yesterday we decide to take the dirty truck to get it washed. We went to the place where Scott always takes his vehicles. They do a great job and clean the inside as well. This car wash must wash hundreds of cars every single day. Guess which vehicle had the antenna broken off. YEP. Our poor little GMC has had a rough trip. But they have ordered the part and will install it today-if it comes in this morning. So now we are in the waiting game to see if he calls to say its in. If it is, the manager over there will install it and it should take about an hour. AN HOUR! An hour out of our very busy day. arrrggghhhhh. Some days it just doesn't pay to get outa bed, ya know?

Driver doesn't feel that it was actually their fault. He thinks it was more than likely rusted and it just broke off when they tried to remove it. Oh, well another new part for the truck!

I have finally finished the quilt top that I've been working on as of late. I really, really like the way that it has turned out. I still need to actually "quilt" it, but here's the way it is now. I think I'll make some pillowcases out of the same material. The squares do not totally cover the pillows, so I'll fix that problem by making pillow cases to match. This is a flannel top and I can already feel how wonderful this will be in the winter (several years from now) all wrapped up in this soft, cozy flannel in my recliner. Or maybe on the bed in the camper, who knows? But, this is rather rustic looking as it has fish, moose and bear on pieces of the nine patches. Reminds me of Minnesota! Gosh, I have since realized how expensive these quilts really are to make. I'm gonna need about 10 yards of flannel now to back this one. And I haven't yet totaled up the amt. that I've spent on the top. Not counting the gas/diesel that it's taken to go get more material. Oh, well it's nice and I like it. So tell me what y'all think of it. The material is by Moda and it's called Cozy Cabin, the pattern I used is called Scattered Nine Patch.

That Cat has had it's breakfast, Rocky has had his walk, driver has had his breakfast, I've checked FB, several forums, updated the blog, and it's only 8:15 but now it's time for my breakfast and some action on my part. Oh, I should tell you we watched the movie "Old Dogs" last night-I rate it a C or low B. Disney flick with Robin Williams and John Travolta, I expected more gaffaws, but it was OK.
